Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis
Psychotherapy can help individuals address life struggles, manage anxiety, alleviate depression, and minimize dissatisfaction and indecision. It is a brave and optimistic step to begin psychotherapy. Weekly meetings with a sensitive clinician have the power to heal old wounds, renew self confidence and expand emotional experience.
I am dedicated to helping individuals and families improve communication. I am especially focused on helping parents speak about donor assisted reproduction, adoption, and any events related to a child's conception. It is never too late to talk with children about their origins. Adult resistance to these conversations can reflect difficult life experiences, and characteristic problem-solving behavior.
Psychoanalysis involves regular meetings over a period of time (optimally twice a week for two years) with the goal of improved emotional and work-related functioning.
Indications for this type of clinical work include:
A desire for increased self-understanding and self-awareness
Feelings of ongoing dissatisfaction with one's work or personal relationships
Inability to cope with a crisis, loss, or history of abuse
